Project Name: 63rd Avenue Pedestrian Bridge over the Loop 101

Construction Cost: $2,740,000.00

Description: CS Construction was the Prime Contractor for the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to construct the first cable stayed pedestrian bridge in Arizona across the Loop 101 freeway and a new concrete vehicular bridge to allow a pedestrian underpass on the eastbound frontage road.

  • CSCI worked with the steel fabricator and the design team to develop the final pedestrian bridge design that was installed across the freeway

  • Installation of the bridge tower, cables, and bridge truss system was accomplished in one weekend freeway closure

  • Additional improvements included retaining walls with unique aesthetic treatment, bench seating, colored concrete walks, LED lighting, CCTV surveillance cameras and a HAWK pedestrian crossing
