Project Name: 63rd Avenue Pedestrian Bridge over the Loop 101
Construction Cost: $2,740,000.00
Description: CS Construction was the Prime Contractor for the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to construct the first cable stayed pedestrian bridge in Arizona across the Loop 101 freeway and a new concrete vehicular bridge to allow a pedestrian underpass on the eastbound frontage road.
CSCI worked with the steel fabricator and the design team to develop the final pedestrian bridge design that was installed across the freeway
Installation of the bridge tower, cables, and bridge truss system was accomplished in one weekend freeway closure
Additional improvements included retaining walls with unique aesthetic treatment, bench seating, colored concrete walks, LED lighting, CCTV surveillance cameras and a HAWK pedestrian crossing
